Brian Marek's review of The Kastle show on July 16th, 2004:

"Last night we attended the Coil of Sihn CD release party at the Kastle. Cathartic yet entertaining.

Sihn Starr screamed from behind a black veil while stripping away the layers of protection from his heart. Found sounds, movie dialogue, NIN-esque acoustic piano samples, menacing analog synthesizers. "Three thousand guitars, they seem to cry, my ears will melt and then my eyes." Brutality gave way to quiet menace and vice versa.

Sihn Starr's voice has developed into an awesome instrument of guttural growls, whispered pleas and high (but virile), blood-curdling screams. This voice found solace not only in original material, but also three cover songs - Pat Benatar's "Hell is for Children", NIN's "Closer"(renamed to Close(t)) and Kiss' "God of Thunder". On the latter two, the lyrics were revised to convey personal relevance; the former required no such alteration."
